PECO Awards Burns’ Client Doylestown Hospital Large Reward for Saving Energy
On Thursday, October 27, 2016, Burns’ Project Engineer, Marc Antonioli, stood by representatives from PECO as they gave Doylestown Hospital a large reward for saving energy due to their new 1.6 MW combined heat and power system. Burns conceptualized the system and served as prime contractor under a unique design-build, performance –based contract. The new system is saving the health system more than $700,000 in energy costs annually while cutting their carbon emissions in half (equivalent to removing 1,500 cars from the road). The project was the beneficiary of a $442,000 Pennsylvania DCED Alternative Clean Energy grant, as well as more than $500,000 in PECO rebates.
