Building Automation

Building automation systems (BAS) are the essential backbone of any successful HVAC system or high-performance building. Modern BAS offers monitoring and tracking of individual components, ability to control the system remotely, and a visual representation of each component’s performance. Tracking and storing performance data can provide invaluable insights to building managers and enables faster, more accurate diagnosis of malfunctions. Whether you’re looking to optimize energy savings without compromising occupant comfort, or spend less time managing your indoor environment, count on Burns Mechanical to deliver sophisticated, cost-effective solutions.

Burns’ controls and service technicians will work closely together to ensure that your entire building system communicates for optimal performance. We offer both proprietary and non-proprietary controls with the flexibility to customize solutions that suite your specific needs and budget. From upgrading and maintaining an existing system, to full system replacement, we provide the necessary installation and commissioning services with responsive, local support.

Case Study: Middletown Township (Bucks County, PA)

When the Middletown Township administration building had issues maintaining a comfortable indoor environment, Burns took a retro-commissioning approach to develop a solution. Burns designed, installed and commissioned a new, non-proprietary HVAC controls system at a fraction of the cost of full system replacement. The new BAS featured a customized web-based interface that offered full control and easy navigation. In addition to correcting temperature control problems, the ability to reset temperature setpoints has also resulted in energy cost savings for the Township.
